Dr. Christopher Areephanthu (who goes by Dr. A) is a highly trained ophthalmologist serving the Nashville and Clarksville areas with advanced expertise in cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment, and retinal injections. He founded Pinnacle Eye Surgeons, in Cheatham County, with the mission of offering a single, convenient destination for comprehensive, surgical eye care.

Born and raised in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Dr. A earned his undergraduate degree from Western Kentucky University where he graduated summa cum laude, followed by his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, with election to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at Indiana University in Indianapolis, where he served as surgical Chief Resident , with training in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), advanced intraocular lens (IOL) implants, and retinal injections.

His commitment to continuous learning led him to participate in research at Vanderbilt University and now continues to contribute to medical research literature to further broaden the understanding of medical eye diseases.

Dedicated to global eye health, Dr. A has participated in international mission work through the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital, providing vision care and education around the world.

When he's not in the operating room or clinic, you’ll find him enjoying time outdoors — fishing, playing hockey, or relaxing with his loyal dog - Moose.
